CW: This episode talks about disordered eating, food intolerance, weight loss, and restrictive diets.
Now that I’m starting to feel better, I’ve been thinking a lot about my relationship with food and how it’s completely tangled with my neurodivergent brain. That’s led me to restrict my food intake, follow rigid rules, and have a lot of shame around eating and to some extent that has continued after I was diagnosed as neurodivergent.
This episode works to break down the intersection between executive function, wanting vs. needing to change your food intake, how that is impacted by being neurodivergent, and where grief comes into play.
I talk about my alpha gal, but imagine a lot of what I’m discussing works with those who deal with food intolerance and allergies.

I’m happy to bring in new voices and perspectives, but just so you’re aware, I won’t promote anyone who is selling quick fixes, trying to exploit the communities I’m a part of, or who outright dismisses the work I’m doing. I’m a firm believer we have to stop putting silos around things and understand the glorious interplay between such things as our mental health, our well-being, living authentic and embodied, as well as some of the harms caused by a psychology practice that has for too long been centered in a cis, white, neurotypical, heterosexual frame.
