Spiritual Dogma and the Wild (Episode 34)

What does the Tower tarot card, the wild, and our current poly-crisis situation have in common? Dogma. The unwavering belief that some humans have that things should not and could not be changed because that is how they were always done.

And yet, dogma is a very human construction like a lot of other things. While the wild may have instinct and established patterns, it can, and does, change. (A good example is the birds that stopped over in the upper midwest to wait for the cold front to push forward before going southward.)

When we connect with the wild, we put a crack in dogma. We start to examine it, and when we connect with the wildness inside ourselves, we start to see where we may be tied to dogma and how we can begin to untether ourselves from it.

This episode is an exploration of these themes and an invitation to see what dogma you still may be clinging to and why.

I’d love to hear from you. Reach out and contact me. Let me know how you fit in with my work and what you’d like to chat about. I’m happy to bring in new voices and perspectives, but just so you’re aware, I won’t promote anyone who is selling quick fixes, trying to exploit the communities I’m a part of, or who outright dismisses the work I’m doing. I’m a firm believer we have to stop putting silos around things and understand the glorious interplay between such things as our mental health, our well-being, living authentic and embodied, as well as some of the harms caused by a psychology practice that has for too long been centered in a cis, white, neurotypical, heterosexual frame.
